TOWNFIED LANE, REDROW PLANNING APPLICATION,REFUSAL.
The above application was refused by Chester City Council on the 28.09.2006’
JREllison Reports, FPC Clerk, 2nd October 2006

The Redrow public preview was well attended. While some expressed disappointment on learning that affordable housing allows for only 25% shared ownership of the affordable segment.
Determined by planning control, the remaining 75% of the 19 affordable dwellings are likely to be 'social rentals'..
The rest of the estate will be priced according to the prevailing housing market.
Robin Buckley, Chief planner for Redrow NorthWest, said the exact number of 'Shared Ownership' dwellings they will build was uncertain at this stage. He went on to say that Redrow recognised the need for more shared ownership in Farndon.
The next meeting of the Parish Council on 20th June should produce some comments and issues regarding the Townfield proposals. Editor 12th June 2006.
Public Comments...
Besides the real concerns over the dire need anywhere for affordable housing, especially for younger starter family's in Farndon, there are other concerns expressed by local residents...
Originally agreed as 45 dwellings, now 47 disturbed many. Why the creep to 47? More dwellings, more local impact!
Local impact, expressed as Traffic issues, leads to the local school. There surely is, no resident who drives, who cannot deny the real existence, of Farndon's school run gridlock. Will increasing the pressure, at the T junction, facing our school, on Churton Road solve itself?
Echoing, other neighbourhoods, there is concern over the height of the new proposed dwellings, not 2 storeys as agreed but, 2.5 levels, which is not 3, just like 47 is not 45!
